Hillside STA Trails

After a mostly rainy day, the skies dried up just in time for a Diva ride at the Hillside STA trails.

This group was particularly happy about the ride!
Dora jumped for joy at the top of Queen Bee.
Brenda glided over the boardwalks on the Llama trail.
Karina and her mother, Mindy, below, were having fun together!
Yay for mother-daughter Divas!
Thanks, Denise, for taking this group photo!
It was Diva Nancy's birthday, and she was super happy when fellow Divas had a surprise celebration at the end of the ride, complete with her favorite libation - Fireball!! Thanks, everyone for hanging around and helping me celebrate - what a great group!!

Mirror Lake

A rainy day made for some slick trails at the new Mirror Lake single track, but 5 intrepid Divas braved the weather and had a great time.
Lindy led the group through the wooded area in Chugiak.
Some of the trails are steep and challenging and not for wimps!
Thank-you Katherine for the photos!

Kincaid from Jodphur Trailhead

YA-HOO! SUN!!
We had another excellent turnout this week, and three happy groups of Divas rode the STA trails at Kincaid from the Jodphur Trailhead.

Gloria was a happy biker on a section of Middle Earth.
The club's newer Gloria - AKA Glo - cruised through a sun-lit section of Hanging Chad, off the main Middle Earth trail.
Anastasia pedaled hard and fast!
Erin also pedaled hard and fast through the high plant life that has grown monstrously tall very quickly!
JoAnn was confident on Hanging Chad.
Yeeeeeeeee-Haaaaaaaaa! Lindy races around the corner of Second Breakfast back onto Middle Earth.
Rose is always happy when she's on her bike - especially in spectacular weather.
Dora powers up a rooty section of Middle Earth.
Petra conquered those roots with confidence!
Bonnie was feeling peaceful when we ran into her group near C$ Express.
Michele's group posed for a quick, happy-moment photo.

Downhill, downhill! And a little up.

July 5th was a fine evening for a ride on the Hillside. About as good as it gets with sunshine, great trail conditions, and the company of the awesome Divas!

Seventeen riders carpooled to the Upper Huffman trailhead and wound our way from Silver Fern to White Spruce and the South Fork Rim Trail before buzzing our way down the STA singletracks that had been freshly brushed of tall grass alongside the trail.

A few Divas were wondering just what the route was so they can ride it again - practice that plank riding, girls! Here are the maps with the route:

From Upper Huffman to Prospect Heights
